Finally, you will visit Rabat, the capital of Morocco, before returning to Tanger.

5 DAYS FROM TANGER TO TANGER

Day 1: Tanger – Chefchaouen

Upon your arrival at Tanger, a driver will drive you across the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Along the way, you will enjoy several breathtaking views which embody the beauty, uniqueness and attractiveness of the Moroccan Rif.  As we reach Chefchaouen, which is a combination of two Berber words Chef which means ‘look at’ and Chaouen ‘the horns’, you will be driven to an hotel in order to rest, have a shower and enjoy your night before exploring the city in the following day.

Day 2: Exploring Chefchaouen

After having breakfast, we will stretch our legs by exploring the beauty of Chefchaouen. First, we will walk inside the old Medina of Chefchaouen. Inside the Medina, you will be amazed with its narrow alleyways, white and blue washed walls, and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts. Those handicrafts like wool garments, woven blankets, and others are nowhere to be found in Morocco except in Chefchaouen. Second, we will visit Rass El-Ma, the head of water, which represents the main source of water in the city. On the way to Rass El-Ma, you will certainly enjoy looking at a range of unique natural scenes which attracts thousands of visitors each year. By the afternoon, you will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes

After having breakfast, your destination will be the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. The road to Fes takes us along beautiful series of mountains namely the Rif and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Yet, your first stop will be Vouliblis, which is partly an excavated Roman city in Morocco located nearby the city of Meknes. After exploring the history and the different corners of Volubilis with a local guide, you will be driven towards fez via Meknes. Meknes which was the capital city of Morocco under the rule of Sultan Moulay Ismail, has an impressive Spanish-Moorish style surrounded by high walls and great doors. It also has famous sights such as; Medresa Bouanania, Bab Mansour, Essouani basin, Heri Essouani, and Cara subterranean prison. As we finish exploring the different sightseeing corners of Meknes, we will continue our way to Fez to check into your accommodation.

Day 4:  Fes guided tours

After having breakfast, you will start your tour at one of the oldest living Medinas in the world with a local official tour guide. First, you will enjoy a tour in the Medina with its souks (markets), stopping at the gateway of the Royal Palace, the 9th-century Karouine Mosque and University. This heritage was founded by Fatima al-Fihria in 859 with a related madrasa, which afterward turns to become one of the leading educational and spiritual centers of the historic Muslim world. Back to the tour, you will also visit the tomb of the city founder “Moulay Idriss II”. Then, you will have lunch at one of the traditional restaurants in the old Medina. After lunch, you will continue your tour to visit the famous tanneries in the old medina, the Merenid tombs and the Batha Museum. On the way back to the hotel, you will stop to enjoy a vibrant view of the city.

Day 5: Fes – Rabart – Tanger

Once you have breakfast, you will depart towards the capital city of Morocco, Rabat. As we reach Rabat, a local guide will take you in a tour to explore the main corners and monuments of the city. First, you will visit the Kingdom Palace before heading towards the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, which is considered a masterpiece of modern Alaouite dynasty architecture. Then, you will walk for few minutes to Hassan Tower, an incomplete mosque and minaret. The minaret was intended to be the largest minaret in the world along with the mosque but when Al-Mansur, one of the Moroccan Sultans, died in 1199, the building of the mosque stopped. As you enjoyed the different corners of the mosque, your trip in Rabat will end by taking you to explore the Kasbah of Ouday before driving you to Tanger.
